Synopsis

Under the spell of Loki, the gods of Asgard are lined up in battle to take over Washington. Thor tries to sneak into camp to defeat Loki, but is imprisoned in a cage of impenetrable diamond.Meanwhile Firelord and Iron Man put their forces together to breach a shield that has held them captive at Avengers' headquarters. There is only time for Firelord to escape. He goes to the American army's camp and offers his assistance. They charge into the Asgardian camp. Firelord gets all the way to Loki and drop him from his mount.A surprised Loki loses his concentration on the diamond cage about Thor. The thunder god escapes and challenges Loki to hand-to-hand combat (without the use of spells, too). But since Thor too must put down his cosmic weapon, Mjolnir, he has only 60 seconds to defeat his half-brother or he will change back to Donald Blake. During the battle, Loki is powerful, but his power is fading. Of course, at the last second Thor smacks Loki on both sides of the head for a K.O. The gods of Asgard are freed from their spell and shout for joy. But Thor stands quietly to the side with a tear shed for his brother. Two other side stories in this issue include Odin, still suffering from amnesia, saving Judith from an oncoming drunken driver. She begins to wonder about the man named Orrin, who just swatted the car away like a fly.Meanwhile Sif and Hercules arrive at the home of Kamo Tharnn in hopes to retrieve the Runestaff, with which they hope to save Jane Foster's life.
